Our story
Philip G David started this Insurance Agency from the ground up in the early 80's. After working for the government for several years, he decided to jump into the Insurance Industry.
He had an office on Kempton Street in New Bedford for about 15 years, before purchasing land and building the current location to his liking in 1996.
His son, Philip Jr, graduated from Bridgewater State College in 2002, majoring in Human Resource Management and minoring in Finance. He received his broker's license in August of 2003. Following Philip’s passing in 2014, Philip Jr. took the reigns and has further expanded product lines and markets, alongside Kerie and Judy, both critical to our operations.

Philip Jr. graduated from Bridgewater State College in 2002, majoring in Human Resource Management and minoring in Finance. He received his broker's license in August of 2003 and has been leading the agency since his father’s passing in 2014.
Kerie Savery
Kerie is our amazing Office Manager. She has played a critical role in the agency for over 8 years, providing friendly and efficient assistance to clients and ensuring the office runs smoothly.
Judy Ellis
Judy has been our hardworking Customer Service Representative for over 4 years. Having worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years, her knowledge is unmatched.
In Memory of Philip G. David
Philip G. David passed away peacefully in December of 2014, surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Shirley R. (Rossie) David. Philip was born and raised in New Bedford and lived in the city his entire life.
Philip graduated with a degree in Accounting from Bryant College. After school, he worked for the Federal Government as comptroller at the Otis Air Force Base and the Naval Base in Newport, RI, for many years. In 1981, Mr. David left this field and opened his own family business from scratch, the Philip G. David Insurance Company. He loved working at the agency and eventually was proud to have his son, Philip Jr. operate the business by his side.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved walking around Buttonwood Park, participating in local politics, making trips to the dog track, and watching the Boston Red Sox - rarely missing a game. He was extremely proud of his Lebanese heritage. Phil was known as a very generous person and always looked for ways to help other people.
The Philip G. David & Son Insurance Agency would not exist without the talent and hard work of Philip, and we will miss him dearly. We’re grateful to continue his work.
